Default d16a6 finished couple questions bogging at 5 k rpm

Well i got the d16a6 into the hf and it started first try. I used dx brakes and it feels like it stops a little better. At about 5000 rpms it bogs a little bit. What should I check? Igniter? I'm using the si computer so I'm wondering what else i should check. I'm using a 4-2-1 header and a gsr OEM intake tube with k&n filter. Also its open header right now what size pipe should i get for it. I'm going to do custom pipe i thought maybe 2 1/4 crush bend....

DEF

when i say it bogs i mean it feels like it looses power from 5k and up.

^^^^^^ that may not be helping you

also make sure your ignition timing is set correctly...

I assume your also using the a6 intake manifold? If so then it could possibly be your fuel filter, if youve never changd it give it a shot, cant hurt. Also check your ignition timing like mentioned.

yeah the timing is right i fixed it by changing spark plugs and putting b pipe on it. The spark plug wires kept popping up put new ones on it. It now goes to 6500 good. Definately good swap and nice change. Can't wait for my b18c1 head to come back now.

lol there might not be enough power to even heat up slicks, can't hurt to try. If they grab to good say bye to your axles.

We are taking it to US13 dragway on Sunday. 89' crx HF w/D16A6,gutted interior, neuspeed drag springs out back, 4-2-1 header, homemade intake, 22x8 M&H's on 13" Lenso VPD's. Josh (deftones0817) thinks that we can't see a 15 sec pass but, I am going to suprise him in his own car. We will keep you guys posted. If you ask me I see a low 15 in the near future. All Driver

I wouldnt be suprised at a high 14, especially with slicks. The hf is light as hell, if your also running an Si tranny then your good to go. If you still have the hf tranny....then yeah, 15's.

Nope, got the SI tranny New clutch too

I have faith in this car but 14's, I don't know about that. I was going to preload and launch at about 5500 on the slicks. The A6 will need to be up that high to get enough power made to turn the slicks and not bog. I would fuel cut it and drop the clutch but the a6 doesn't make enough power. the slicks would hook and we'd break axles .
