Default Hydro tranny on a B16A in a 91 CRX...quick question

Yes I searched...but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 91 CRX SI
I am installing a JDM B16A
I have a hydro tranny from a USDM car, not sure which car it came from, but it matches up with the B series motor, I know I bolted it on to make sure.

First, how can i tell what car the tranny came from, are there stamps anywhere?
I did not see any tags on the tranny. I looked everywhere, on the outside casing, on the inside housing... nothing.

Second, what intermediate shaft and axles do I use?

Thanks again

first of course the tranny will bolt up to the b16 motor..ther are a few way you can use/keep that tranny on your crx...
1) get the hydro to cable conversion kit...

2) convert you cable crx into a hydro crx (WHICH I'M DOING SO, ACTUALLY KINDA FINISHED"

3) you will need to get after market motor mounts...

as for telling which tranny it is...and since you say there is no stamping on there and if there is no holes in the front of the tranny then it not a later model tranny/motor (96-up integra--99-00si).
if it is blank then it a (94-95 integra)...

as for the 1/2 shaft..it depend on what axles you are using....if you are using the cable version ax;es then you need the 90-93 1/2 shaft ( or FEMALE TYPE) which is the one with the hole on the end...
if you're using the hydro version axles then you need the 94-up integra/99-00 si 1/2 shaft (MALE TYPE) which is the one with a stick coming out at them end..

so hope this help you.

1. Got the hydro to cable conversion from Hasport (EFB2 kit)
2. The hydro trany has three holes in the front of it, maybe it may help you in helping me identify the year car it came from.
3. Still didn't clarify what intermediate shaft i would use and what axles I would use.

But thank you for your help, please if you have anymore insight it would be great. Also if you know of a way i can identify the tranny I have, please let me know.

thanks again!

Just to clarify,
I think i'm getting this, but just want to make sure, i'm going out to buy this in the near future. It's my first swap and I want to just make sure.

So..
If this is a tranny off of a 99 SI for example , then I would use the intermediate shaft of the 99si and the axles? I wouldn't have a fitment problem or nothing, everything would bolt right up? And the intermediate shaft would bolt up to the back of the block same holes and everything?

if you have the tranny from an 99si then get the 99-00 si alxes and/or 1/2 shaft if needed.. or you can use any 94-up integra axles and 1/2 dhaft or SIR2..they the same as along as they are the MALE type.
that fitment shouldn't be any problem...

Alright last question:

I got the hasport kit and when I ordered it, they must have forgot to mention that I need a rear tranny bracket for my hydro tranny.

I just figured it out when I was installing my motor.

Just to recap:

91 CRX SI
Installing a JDM B16A with a 99 Civic SI hydro tranny.

What tranny bracket do I need to get to make this happen without having to wait another week to get it from Hasport. Can I pull one off another car? Maybe go to the dealer and buy one? Any alternatives instead of the hasport EFRB-HY bracket??

Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Just drill the holes out to 9/16th on the 90-91 teg (gen 1 b16a) rear bracket. You can also use 90-91 axles and int shaft with the 90-91 teg int shaft side axle seal. Ryan

Ryan,

I just checked out your web page, great site...great info...

Can you clear something up on your post,

you said I can use a 90-91 teg (gen1 b16A) rear bracket...is this a USDM part? Can i go to the junkyard or to Acura and say I need a rear bracket for that specific car and it will be the correct one? And does it matter if the Teg is RS , LS, GSR?

I understand about drilling the holes larger and that's no problem, but when I do,where does the bracket mount on the hydro tranny? Do you have any pics of your install? OR can you explain it?

As far as the intermediate shaft, I have the 99si intermediate shaft and axles, will they be fine?

Thanks!
m

PS
To all HT'ers, my apologizes for asking so many questions, this is my first swap and its crazy tracking down all the info and parts needed to make this happen.
