Default 97 gsr vs. 99 gsr

k my friend has a 99 gsr and i hav a 97 gsr...when he first got the car and we raced(dont flame we raced on a road where no1 goes) i would always win....he then gets high-flow cat, cold air intake, and has a dc 4-1 header(had when he bought it), and he beats me every time by a car or so ...can a cold air intake and high flow cat make this much of a diff...i hav a short ram thats it...and im not sure if this is the rite forum for this post but if u could help it would be appriciated ....thanx

lol i think you also just answered your questions?

"hmm... how come when he put on more go-fast mods than me he goes faster than me? it just doesn't make sense to me..."

header doesn't work by iteself, neither does a high flow cat, or intake. they all work together to free up air flow...
