hey all im wondering whats the closest you can put your O2 sensor in your downpipe to the turbo, i am having a e-cutout puton my car and want to have full use of the o2 sensor.....

any pics please post or is there cerain distance it HAS to be

i am converted to OBD1 so i am only using one O2

 

I had mine about 3in off the downpipe. It worked and read very well....wideband by the way

 

The PLX manual says to have it at least 24 inches down. *shrug*

 

inovate manual says 18in down

its all a safety precaution incase you have excessive heat.. which you do.

so. put it where you want. and hope your wideband lasts..

stock o2... put it wherever you want

 

If the wideband is just for tuning and for the track...put it closer.

If you want to drive around with it always in, put it further or make a heatshield for it.

exactly.. if its just temporary for tuning... then the closer the better really
