V-AFC owners...
Anyone have one of these fail?
I just purchased one from a local shop and am anxious to install it.
Question... How does the V-AFC determine default fuel maps, once initializations are complete?
thanks.

I have never heard of one failing, if it did break (im not an electrical engineer so i might be wrong) i believe it would still work as the circuit would not be broken. The VAFC just alters signals to the ECU, if it broke the signals would still continue but would be unaltered.
"It changes your fuel by altering MAP sensor voltage to the real ECU."
Map sensor? -expound on that please.
I should kick myself for buying one when I'm not too sure how it works.

If the VAFC fails your ECU will not receive a good MAP signal.
If you have one installed and your engine is running fine then the VAFC is working fine! If you haven't noticed anything after installing it, that is because you haven't tuned it yet

And if you don't know how or what it does then you definitely don't want to try messing with it!
Good luck!
Regards,
One more question... My plan is to install, and leave fuel correction alone; at default. -Can I assume this would mean it is operating same as stock?
...And if air/fuel is adjusted, would an air fuel meter be wise? or should this be monitored done at the Dyno?

All tuning should be done with a Wide Band 02 sensor and on a dyno!
I have never played with a VAFC but I would bet that if you don't touch a thing after installing it then you should see no changes in the engine performance. I would confirm that the VTEC points are the same as they might be set to a different default. If you change the VTEC points without fuel enrichment or enleanment then you might screw things up around the x-over point.

Will
Nice... So could someone help me out, or provide a resource for the initial setup.
This may sound strange but, I don't trust the manual for setup.
It reads: Page 20 "Never start the engine or turn the ignition key Off/On while the VAFC is in use." -What the hell is that supposed to mean?
If someone could send over thier settings for setup without the air fuel stuff, I would be soooo happy.
