Default Just installed a fuel cut off switch

This took me around 20 minutes or so and is perhaps one of the easiest mod i have ever done. I think this schematic works for all 96-00 Civics (mines was a 99 EX). The DIY was found here..

I'm sure it's been posted before but this can save you car's life some day and it only cost 5 bucks max providing you have all the supplies. (only thing I bought was the relay switch from Radio Shack)

If you guys have any questions about the install, feel free to ask. I'm a electronic noob but I'll try to answer.

Yeah, I already did this last week with a 25A fuse from Radio Shack. Very simple install, works like a charm. I don't think many people would need any questions answered about this.

Did mine today only took me 10mins but i had to buy the switch from radio shack as well as the femal/male coonectors for the back of the switch, and wire connectors. probably costed me i say under $10. I think its a worth while project. For the amount spent, you can save your car. But just remeber to hide that switch and dont be telling friends about where you hid the switch and ****, because everybody has a big mouth.

might be dumb question but: what is the purpose of the 25A fuse and where did u put it if it's such an important piece? in the diy, it was simply a matter of the switch and some speaker wire... is the fuse neccessary?

TIA!

maybe he's meaning he switched the 15A fuel pump fuse with a 25A in the fusebox, i dunno, the link above mentions it, I wouldn't think you'd need to though if everything is done properly = wired properly, switches and wires, etc. are good parts, not cheap junk

Nice job. However, I dont like making the connection near the kick panels, but rather by the fuel pump. The reason is that it would be harder for a thief to find the switch since its under the rear seats.
