I purchased a 1994 civic cx 3 months ago with a b18b in it. It's got a loud muffler on it with a 2.5 inch piping, I don't know what brand exhaust it is. My question is that, can I put a stock LS or GSR muffler with the 2.5 inch pipes and loose power? I have a 5 months old son and don't want him to go deaf when he ride in a car with me. Thanks

 

i would imagine that you would lose some power becuase of backpressure. try to throw on a resonator and a cat and see if that helps. if you have that already i would say throw on that stock one, bacuse are you gonna be racing with your kid in the car?? you better not be!!! then just put it back on when you race. and isn't 2.5 inch too big for that motor anyway??

 

I'm almost 100% sure that the weld on muffler isn't helping you hardly any...It's just providing you with sound.

Keep your 2.5 piping and put a stock axle back exhaust back on.

Then let us know if you could tell a difference on the BUTT dyno.

 

Tough choice there huh?..... Possible power loss ..... possible deaf child.... I say flip a coin.
