My damn CRX wont crank. OK lemme walk you through my dilemma. The car has been sitting for about 3 weeks except for taking it to the store once a week. I drove the car yesterday and today it cranks up for about 3 seconds then dies. After trying to crank it up for a few minutes i take off the dizzy cap and rotor button is still tight, no CEL. So i guess with this 90+ degree heat the main relay ( 14 years old ) finally crapped on me. Im gonna go and pick up a new one and install and hope that fixes it.

 

So what's the question?

 

i guess i forgot to ask. i guess im asking opinions to what it can be?

 

main relay is a goood first suspect. after that i would go through the fuel system i.e. filter, clean lines, and possibly the pump.

 

it was the main relay..... car cranked up last night after it was cool outside...gonna put in the new one tomorrow..

Always carry a spare. I actually relocated my main relay so I could just pull it out and put it in with in 2 seconds. Great anti theft device to.

use to do that but now going to again.......sucks when it goes out with 95 degree heat and 100% humidity.. looked like i just took a shower after 2 minutes of looking at what was up.

I just opened mine up and resodered all the soder joints and it has been working fine. U could always try that before buying a new one and if it works u save yourself some money
