Default 1998 Lx v tech exhaust upgrade

I have a 1998 Lx with a 2.3 l vtech I inherited from my wife, who just got a 2004. Is a Greddy cat back exhaust worth the money and effort? I really do not want a really loud "ricey" sound, just some performance and looks.

Thanks for your help.

Crum

It should be good for you, since they meet street legal requirements for dB. If you want performance and quiet, youd want an apex'i World Sport 2.

It's V-TEC, not vtech, before you get flamed alive....

if you dont want your vtech to be loud, you should buy the one with adjustable volume.

Its too late

It is VTEC not vtech, vteck, vtek or anything else....if you forget what it says look on your valve cover.

As far as exhaust and other mild tuning parts check out the "official guide" at the top of the page

You will get more noise than performance.

Honestly a catback might free up 5-10HP at the most, so its really not the best way for performance. Unless of course u wanna just sound good .

It will free up 0 hp unless you properly size the rest of the exhaust SYSTEM. It works together. Just replacing one part will not get the most from that part...and just putting an exhaust onto the end of a stock header and cat is just like putting a firehose at the end of a garden hose...it does nothing.
