Default throttle cable tension

i just installed a new mod that goes in between the throttlebody and the intake manifold (in other words, air goes thru the filter>intake>TB>"new mod">intake manifold>engine) and the tension in the throttle cable is increased because it is extended a little less than an inch. Throttle response increased also, but the gas pedal has barely any free-play. Is this ok that the tension is increased like this?

as long as the idle isn't high, should be okay.

yoshi - who has no 'free play' on his stock pedal

A common thing to do to the cars is to tighten the throttle cable to eliminate excess "play".

i garuntee it is NOT a tornado or anything like it... its kinda hard to explain... they call it a "helix" and it will be out on the market next week or so... and they dyno tested 10hp/10tq gains. Personally i dont believe it cuz they didnt show me the numbers... but it does have a "turbo spooling" sound to it, plus the greater throttle responce and crisper acceleration... look for it in the near future...

LOL, you are pretty handy with that camera of yours. Good thing you got that pic because I won't be caught working on your car again!

I've got evidence! Next time I get pulled over, I'm gonna show the cop that picture, and tell him it's your fault.

You could try that, but as soon as he sees the stickers all over your car in that pic, there's going to be no doubt in his mind that you are a punk-*** riceboy! You'll get a ticket either way...

Stock "free-play" is 10-12mm in the throttle cable. If you have too much play, you will FEEL like you are missing the throttle response, 'cause you are! In fact, if it is too loose, you can actually not end up at full throttle when your foot is to the floor. Too tight & your idle will kick up a notch...

Adjust it tight & LOOOOOOOVE the feel of "touch&GO!"
