Default Toda spec a's or b's

Not sure which is worth me while. From what I know I can run toda spec A's on stock internals. If I go that route it will save me money but will it be a notible difference. Or do I go all out with spec B cams and to valvespring and retainers. Not sure which way to go please help.

Huh?

In all of these 3 posts, I have absolutely no idea what you're trying to say.

lol @ the drama above

anyway, depends on:

How much money you have
Tuning tuning tuning
Whats the car is used for
Tuning tuning tuning
Every motor is different
Every tuner is different
Did I mention tuning?

Point being there are too many factors to say which is better.

You can run B's on a stock valvetrain.

Did it for eight months or so, five or six thousand miles, on my old Hype R. No negative effects.

Is it the *right* way to do it? Maybe not. But it will run fine, contrary to the "gospel" on here that claims Toda B + stock valvetrain = boom.

Hmm.

I was able to get over 190 Dynojet HP with stock ITR cams.

What is it you're trying to turn the car into, and how does it dyno now w/the Hondata and stock cams, if you don't mind?

Where I'm going is I'm not sure you need aftermarket cams at all, depending on what you are trying to get out of the car.

http://members.aol.com/georgeknighton/ at the bottom is a Dynojet graph of my car w/stock cams and very mild modifications.

The information you posted is quite wrong. A's are a mild cam - they should be compared with skunk stage 1's, jun 1's, ctr cams, and spoon cams. They can be used with stock valvetrain and their power production falls off after 8600 or so (depending on other mods).

B's, and C's make gobs more midrange than jun 3's AND the cams listed above; from what I've seen with my own eyes. This is anywhere between 10.6:1 and 12.8:1 c/r... C's make comparable peak power to jun 3's. jun 3's seem to make decent peak, but have off vtec power comparable to stock itr cams (hence the nice idle). jun 3's definitely do not **** on spec b's, that's for damn sure! LOL They're all good cams, but the best advice is to do your own research.

George Knighton said it best (imho).

From the listing of mods the original poster has - I'd say he has some bolt-ons that need to be upgraded first.....

Is anyone else amazed at the misinformation that is spread around this board? (sorry for going o-t, but in looking at some of the responses in this post, I'm really right on topic).

P.S.- To be fair and answer the question, based on your mods list and what you are apparently able to contemplate spending, do not get any cams bigger than Spec A's. As George said, you may want to look into keeping the stock cams as well and getting better bolt-on's.

Spec a's + ctr pistons will break the 200whp mark for j00.....
