Default Door Mirror Help

The driver's side door mirror on my 2000 4-door accord got hit yesterday and I ordered a replacement. I was wondering if you guys could help me take it off. The original mirror is still dangling by its electrical cords. The only idea I have is to take the black cover off from the inside of the car and maybe there will be screws there or something. Are the wires plug and play or would I have to replace them too? Any advice would be good. Thanks.

yeah, the plastic piece on the inside of the door comes out (mine was in really tight, so dont be bashful trying to take it off.) the screws are in there, also the wiring harness is covered by that piece. this should not be a difficult replacement at all. good luck

Did you have any problems taking the plastic cover off? I dont want to break it when I'm taking it off or putting it back on.

Not really, it's just held by clips. Just be gentle with it and dont tug at it or anything and you won't have any problems. Youll feel the clips pull off, and theyll pop back on...or in my case they don't cause i broke them. It's really easy to do, just it's somewhat fragile...
