well, reset the ecu and see if it repeats first. if it does then check the wiring to make sure it's intact. if thats ok, get a new dist.

high rpm huh? a code 9 should put the car in limp mode meaning you can rev past 3k and the car is running on "assumed" timing/fuel. (which causes it to run like bum)

code 9 tells the ecu when the #1 piston is on TDC as a base for the sequential for the MPFI

it does not sets the ecu on limp mode

it doesnt make the car fail e-check

it doesnt affect at all the performance of the car..

i say that for experience.. i have had that code for 1.5 yrs and havent been able to fix it...
i changed dizzy, ecu, rewired it 4 times, grounded the wires, did everythig on my power.. the sensor reads ok, theres no fractures on the cable between the ecu and the dizzy, and or resistance... i dont know what to do........

even turbo now it doesnt affect it

i say test the sensor .... should be between 500-750 ohms.. check for the same readings on the ecu plug when the dizzy is conected to make sure the wires arent grounded.. if all its ok but reading is wrong.. try a new dizzy.... maybe thas the problem

Code 9 - No. 1 Cylinder Position Sensor

It's the third sensor in the dist., and it detects the position of the No. 1 Cylinder, as the base for the Sequential Injection. It can also be located on the camshaft of DOHC engines.

CYP sensor is mounted on the exhaust cam on the ZC.

If the dist. base bearing starts failing, it will heat the sensor(s) up, destroying the magnetism thus causing a code(s). It will lose 10% of it's strenght, each time it is heated up to 170 degrees plus.

In most cases, replacing the distributor is the only alternative. Especially if the bearing has failed.
Honda does don't stock the bearing by itself, but other after-market compaines are said to have one.

If you have problems starting the engine, or drivability after the install check your cam aligment. The seizing bearing might have caused it to jump a tooth/notch or two. From the extra drag due to the bearing failing.
