Default CX Exhaust question

I purchasred an exhaust for my hatchback before seeing which models it would work with. Now, because of my cat being attatched directly to my headers, I have about a 1 ft gap in between where my "cat-back" exhaust starts and my downpipe ends. The question is whether I would be able to buy a resonator/test pipe off of ebay and have it bolt up directly?

Just get a set of EX/SI 92-95 headers *used*. They are cheap could pick one up localy for like $25-40. I assume that you are still running a d series?

The thing about just getting new headers, is that I plan on getting b18c1 within the next 3 months. I dont get the fitting for headers, do they all bolt up the same at the block? Will a sohc header fit a dohc engine? Are they transferrable to different series of engines i.e. EX header on a gsr engine? and if I get a new header for my civic, will I have to get a new cat as well?

A SOHC header only works on a SOHC, and a DOHC header on a DOHC.

If I were you, as someone else suggested, I'd just take it to a muffler shop and have them fab up a little extra piping.

just like i sed.....btw if ur goin b18c1, ur gonna have to buy all the parts for the motor and for aftermarket exhaust, you can buy it for ur civic or u can go custom and have the muffler shop do it for you and remember to buy a cat for it or else ur **** will be hella loud which will cause you to get a big ticket sooner or later. That's my advice[QUOTE=nw.dave]A SOHC header only works on a SOHC, and a DOHC header on a DOHC.

just get a test pipe at http://www.racingpipes.com. it should work. it should bolt right up. it would probably cost more getting it done at a muffler shop.
