My insurance company NEVER covers cd's, i even tried claiming it on homeowners. They **** me off...ive lost an obscene amount of cd's

 

My friend just got his WHOLE car stolen, so feel lucky. but that still sucks man!

 

they were definitely pros, they did not damage my car at all to get in

 

damn man sorry to hear that. Normally you have to have special extra coverage for that. Some companies do it some don't.

 

That sucks.

Add the following to your alarm system to prevent it from happening again:
1)Secondary battery-powered backup siren
2)Hood trigger pin

Yeah. You can get a cable-type hood lock. This works in addition to your hood latch to secure the hood. A metal cable secures the hood down. It runs from the hood into the passenger compartment where there is a locking mechanism that you use a key to open or lock.

A hood lock kit costs about $60. But the install is a PITA. Installing it usually involves drilling into the hood and the front engine bay cross-member. I wanted to get one for my car. But the place that did my alarm talked me out of it. They said that they've seen too many cases where there was enough slack left in the cable. A person could unlatch the hood from outside the car. Then they can yank up on the hood enough to pull it up just enough to reach under there with wire cutters...

But the more layers of protection you have, the better.

As a side note, I'd also recommend adding a tilt-motion sensor. This will go off if the angle of your car changes - like if it's getting towed. It will also go off if someone starts jacking up your car to steal your wheels or exhaust or something...

Park your car outside, and it's first come first serve, it sucks. 3 Months ago I left my wallet inside my car by mistake, the same night someone smashed the window and took it.

 

vpforeva, i know how u feel i got my old car('89 daytona piece of ****) broken into and i also had a system worth a $1000 and they took it. I had no alarm though (stupid me). I had to pay $200 deductible and everything got fixed within a month i think. both of my doors were badly damaged i guess because those guys were amateurs. Since then i installed alpine alarm with a 2nd siren that has its own battery inside. Losing all yr cd's really sux. I hope u get yr money back

im only gettin half of my money back cuz my deductible is 500 =\, they wont cover my cds or my wallet cuz its personal item, those cdrs were priceless

 

That sucks dude. I had my car broken into back in April and they broke my window and stole my cd player. Only thing that really pissed me off was that I had to buy a new window. I got it tinted for free though . Luckly I have a hook up on cd players to.

sorry that happened, all i got to say is that the best alarm is you,. juts get a fresh pot of coffee every 4 hours and sit there and watch your car . if all else fails, get a bigg a$$ snake and stick it inside your car like gone in 60 sec
