Every now and then I hear somebody complain that their carbonfiber hood doesn't clear their head. I tried a few searches on HT but couldn't find any threads on the subject.

So I'm wondering, anybody out there have a VIS Grade AA OEM hood and have clearance problems with their engine?

I'm gonna be using a b18a bottom end with b16a head if that's of use to answering my question...

depending on the motor and mounts it should

 

Stock mounts, B18c motor and i had the biggest gap ever. It pissed me off, so i took a dremmel and cut pieces that hit the motor and then i put some hood pins to make sure its on there good. No problems since.

if you get the OEM hood it clears if you get one of those rycer hood with all the ugly vents.. BAM

 

Aight, so it sounds like this hood is not gonna clear, especially with my 1.8L bottom end. Anybody got any suggestions for a brand that'll clear?
