Default Buy a hatch or continue a project on a nissan 240

In all honesty i love my honda. I have a 4dr but it needs work on it. I was thinking of putting it back to stock becuase its my daily driver. On the side I also have a nissan 240sx as a project. I was wondering if that car is worth more and easier than if i bought a hatch with which i am more familiar with. I don't want to get in over my head and I am just curious for people's opinions. Thanks.

Sticking with what you know v. bandwagoning?

Your heart may be with Honda but ya might have more fun with a 240. Try driving it around and see what you think. Then go from there.

hondas are great, alot of stuff to do. But 240 is freaken awesome too, but harder to work on. It's fun as hell to get that thing sideways too. It's really a moment of choise if you are tired of a civic (because you want a RWD and something different) I say go for it. But if you are tired of fixing your civic up all the time, don't even think about going with a 240 they are hell to work on (at least from my experience).

Oh yeah if you are big N/A fan I wuold suggest to stay with a civic too because there is only that much power you can squeeze out of a ka24 without turbo, or just swap.

yeh rwd is fun and i have enjoyed it with a shitty engine, so when i am running boost, it will be an assload of fun. I do like my honda like i said, but this 240 is gonna be fun i think. Thanks guys for your input. I always have honda there on the side.

the 180sx is a s13 with a CA18 engine. thats why its called a 180. 1.8 liter engine. kinda like why its called a 240sx here. 2.4 liter engine. in japan, the s13 could come with a sr20 or ca18. so you just drive a s13 or a 240sx. not a 180.

Or you can swap an SR16VE or SR20VE and make just as much power N/A as any N/A Honda. Be different anyways.

i wouldn't get rid of your 240..

i donno about your area, but these 240sx's are getting harder and harder to find now that there is a drift craze.

I say keep the 240 and work on it. It's a very fun and enjoyable car (I like mine )
and of course there is plenty of support for its base.
240sxforums.com and zilvia.net to name a few..

I'm not saying I don't like hondas, but if I had the choice between a civic Hatchback (let's juss pretend it's an EG) and a 240SX fastback to work on.. I'd definitely go with the fastback.

Not all 180sx have the CA motor. 180sx also have the SR20det redtop. And newer style 180sx Type X kouki has the s13 blacktop motor. Only the older 91 below 180sx, Silvia, and Onevia have the CA. And 91+ have the SR I believe.

it depends. do you want to swap the 240? do you know anything about nissan motors? do you know anything about turbos? if no is the answer then: do you know a reputable shop that does? you have to think about that too. also turbos need alot of tuning.

it will payoff in the long run if you can find a yes to those questions, if not then stick with what you know.
