Default B17 crank: Acquired

I got the first and most important part for my all motor build. A b17a crank from slofu (great seller). Enough BS, here it is.

Looks similar to the build i was gonna do. B16 block with b17 crank. Crower rods, and ctr pistons. And ctr valve train. Crazy good rod/stroke ratio. Keep us posted!

you can see that both ends of the crank, have a pair of counterweights, and not just 1 on each side. B17A it is.

anyone want to buy one? see my EF parts sig.

were the crower rods the only ones you could find??? seems like some would make cheaper rods...or were looking at custom b16 rods/pistons..

might as well tell you guys the plans now.
B17 crank
b16 block and head
sleeved to 85mm (can't decide on company)
b16a 5.290" rods (probably gonna be eagle)
arias pistons with wrist pins raised .082"
as for the rest of the engine i've got a lot of deciding and research to do. I know i want around 11.1-11.7 compression and i'm gonna match the combustion chamber to the bore and i'm gonna run hondata, but i'm trying to decide if i should convert to obd-1 or keep obd-0.
I wanna see 205whp for sure.

Why is the B17 crank so great? Do you get more displacement from it or something? Is it forged?

Does hondata Still have issues with obd-0 ?
Did they come out with a program that works now on these years?

It's best because it is a great compromise... It's between the B16a's short stroke and the LS or GSR/ITR's longer strokes, LS being the longest by a hair.

The B17 crank with a 84mm bore nets about a 1.9L motor, and keeps a decent rod stroke ratio, unlike the b18 cranks.

B16 still has a better rod/stroke ratio, but the b17 is a good compromise.

Yes i was told from multiple people that crower is the only company that makes rods for the b17 crank. Wich isnt all bad, because they are bad *** rods A lil bit pricey tho
