I'm afraid it's not a joke. The guy even writes back further down asking why it's a bad idea.

I don't know if anyone that is smart enough to drive a car is dumb enough to spray paint their pads and rotors, but those rotors do look awfully new. . .

Who says you have to be smart to drive a car?

I once painted the center part of my rear rotors to keep them from rusting... a small amount ran on the surface, but the pads wore it off right away. Being that this guy completely covered the pads and rotors, I'd expect him to have weak braking at first, but the paint really wont last long, and then it should be about normal. Obviously, he's an idiot though...

I'll believe anything at this point. The amount of stupidity out there has no boundries.

Remember, I'm the one who had a guy ask him a couple of years ago if he could just completely remove his springs to get "maximum drop." I just thought for a minute and said "Yeah, you can do that."
Its an honest answer. You can get maximum drop by removing your springs.

Scott, who often wonders if that guy really removed his springs, and guesses he probably did.

The paint will wear off where the pad contacts it VERY quickly (like the very 1st time he hits the brakes). In all honesty, really not all that dangerous. They'll be fine by the time he backs out of his driveway.

This one time, on Altimas.net, this one guy complained his rotors were rusting, and someone actually told him to spray WD-40 on them. I am not making that up.

I believe it was on that board that I saw a post about porting an engine head...with a bag of sand...while the car was running. Only saw pics of the bag of blasting sand, and think it was not real, but idiots are very resourceful, so who knows?!

You know, I don't give that forum enough credit. That head in the *** photo really is one of the funnier things I've seen this week, and I've seen the "pimp my ride" bum edition.
