Here is my situation and any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated, a noise has been coming from my transmission for quite some time.I have been putting off getting it looked at becuase I have been so busy lately. After a month of putting it off I finally took it in.They had it for three days when yesterday I got the call that they are denying my claim.Basically what happened was the input shaft bearing came apart.I have friends at the dealer but unfortunately they are at the mercy of the regional Rep.I know I have a few options here, and I have some more channels to explore before I start getting all pissed off about this situation.
What I don't understand is how they can deny such a thing.I would be more understanding if I trashed a shift fork, knocked a tooth off of a gear or destroyed my syncros but this isn't the case.
What I am asking for here is some help.If anyone has had an experience similar to this please share it with me.If anyone out there has any #'s I can use as contacts please let me know.I really appreciate any input on this.At this point I am just hoping for the best outcome.

Your best option with a situation like yours is to contact Acura USA. Most dealers are a$$holes who seem to single out the ITR's from any warranty work. Be sure to mention that the regional rep also denied your claim on a warrantiable item.
Anyway here you go:
BY PHONE
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Standard
time at the toll-free number (800) 382-2238
Good luck

.....well, this is a service issue.
Bottom line is you have to make it such a hassle for them that they'll honor your warranty work. Dealers don't want to do warranty work. Why? Because they only get paid for 1/2 of the work by Honda. They foot the other 1/2 of the bill themselves. Labor is the biggest cost, so they definitely don't want to rebuild an engine or tranny for 1/2 off when they could be doing work for some sucker who pays. And if they do too much warranty work each year, it looks bad on them and affects their yearly bonuses.
If someone deny's your claim, don't be a dick. Just explain that you think it should be covered. Remember they'll find reasons to deny it. Explain that you don't want to argue with them. You just feel like as a customer, you deserve better treatment. Make it a customer service issue. Explain your dissatisfaction with their attitude and the lack of SERVICE. Ask for their manager, regional manager, etc... Keep going over people's heads until you get someone who will agree with you. BE POLITE. Eventually you'll get to someone who doesn't care if the company has to pay 1/2 or all of it. It isn't coming out of their pocket. This will probably be the regional manager, or his boss. They will basically say anything to get you out of their face and off their back. And they don't lose anything by authorizing the warranty work.
It's a lot easier to do this in person than on the phone, because they can always avoid a phone call, but hard to avoid a meeting or appointment with a customer.
Believe me, I get a lot of free **** all the time. But you have to know the system.
and good luck.

I think you misstated that they foot the bill for the labor. They may only get reimbursed for half the labor cost, but they're not actually paying anything to do warranty work, their margin has just shrunk ($60/hr > $30/hr or thereabouts).

this is definitely a common thing, happend to my tranny and my friends tranny both and i dont rag out my car or abuse my transmission. Tell them to tell you specifics as to why it was denied and argue over each one and like everyone else said go over people's heads and try to get buddy buddy with someone high up and get them to agree with you. like he said, doesnt come out of their pockets and they'd rather just make you happy and not deal with someone thats pissed off

Just rebuild it yourself man. Not hard to do at all. (Although I agree that this bearing should be covered by warranty)

Was the damage to your valves due to a mis-shift at high rpm?

BTW, if it's the same regional guy that we have here, he's a complete fuggen dick. Informed my friend that people shouldn't "race their integras like they are nsx's". Once I get around to xfering some video I'm going to send him a tape of my car passing NSX's
bent 2 valves and I need a new cylinder head. thank god for credit cards!!!
