When I start my car, I hear a few knocks... if I let it idle, It sounds fine, no spuradic knocks at idle.. At around 3k, there seems to be a few ticks.. No other knocks other then those RPM's ever, and the cars performance doesnt seem to be affected at all.

Hears where this gets weird.. I only hear the ticks at 3k once the motor is a little warmed up. Usually after driving for like 10 minutes.. However, If the motor is warm, and I turn it off, and restart it, I hear NO knocks when it starts.. wtf??


Only thing I can think of is a wheel baring or somethin... Any ideas?

 

is it ticking, valve clatter, or knocking ( like someone hitting the motor with a hammer)?

 

knocking when I start it... then more of a rambling at 3k RPM... its not knocking at 3k, its almost like I have vtec lol... Right at the same RPM i can hear the noise, but If I go past 3k like to 4k and shift, I dont hear the knocking.. Only at around 3k.. and never at higher RPM's

 

hmm, I think it might possibly be that my valves need to be adjusted... Ill play around with them today :]

 

valves, possible your timing thats what I would check. Good luck

 

Mine sounded like that when i Spun a bearing, Sorry to say it but most of the time its rods. Mine started knocking right at 3000 rmps to.
