Default HELP...Transmission problem

Sup everyone. I cant engage nor disengage into any gears while the car is on. But when the car is off its prefectly fine. So then i started the car in 1st gear with the clutch down and moved it and everything seemed fine but still no luck getting out of the gear. I already bled the clutch and did the tranny fluid. The clutch pedal feels fine also. Any solutions? Its on a 98 itr with 26k miles.

sounds like you might have popped a spring in your clutch disc. It definately sounds like a clutch problem though...

hes right, gotta be the clutch, this is usually diagnosed when you can go thru the gears when the car is off but not when its on

i c...cuz we thought it was the synchros but what were the chances of breaking all of them at once. Is this a problem that many people get with stock clutches or did i hit the jackpot? Any recommendation on clutches just as a stock replacement? thx everyone

same thing happened to my roomate, his started worsening gradually though, he would have to turn the car off at every stop light to put it in first gear and then once the car was moving it was driveable but barely and grinded at time...changed his clutch and it fixed everything

i've had several friends who have had this same problem when their clutches go out

I've always used ACT clutches and have never had any problems

I just did the ACT hdss clutch / pressure plate combo ( mind you also with the pro lite flywheel )
and so far I really like the clutch. it grabs hard, but the pedal is not very stiff at all.

same thing happened with me. It just got worse and worse, and i couldn't shift at any rpm over 3000. I thought it was the throwout bearing...so i went out and bought an exedy clutch kit (i love it); and when i got my tranny out, i found out that i had infact popped a spring in my clutch disc, and part of the metal on the clutch disc was floating around inside the bellhousing with the clutch and whatnot. That was one fucked up clutch

My advice...go buy an ACT or exedy clutch kit...pull your tranny and u'll soon find out what the problem is

we took out the tranny and found that the clutch maybe has 1/3 of its life left, huge amount of hotspots on the pressure plate and flywheel. The tranny itself has tiny small cracks/lines everywhere but could that be part of the casting mold ( the area around the fork)? Also it look pretty greasy like tranny fluid somehow got into that area and it eventually got caked on. Any ideas?
