Question about converting jdm type r to OBD1

Default Question about converting jdm type r to OBD1

i am looking to getting a JDM ITR b18c5 but from what i know they are OBD2 i have a jdm b16a right now which is obd1, i am told that there are a few things on the type r that you can change to make it an obd1 motor. if anyone knows i'd apreciate it thanks

Thats what i did with my CRX. Just use the obd1 disributor, injectors, ecu, and get a Hondata S200 to tune your ecu to the engine.

Or if it is a EG/DC2, you can just get a OBD2 teg harness and have it close to plug and play.

Or if you dont have a USDM OBD2 harness, you can mod the B16 harness to work. I used the harness from my d16z6 on my JDM ITR swap. Soldered on the OBD2 injector clips, Distributor plug, and alternator plug. Also had to splice the two wires on the second plug for VTEC oil pressure. I was a little skeptical about going this route, but there are local shops that does this on their cars, and it worked out fine for me.

That said, finding a USDM OBD2 harness is plug and play and the easiest route
