Default Best Fluids...

What are the best fluids for the transmission and brake system?

I'm thinking about flushing my brake system before the big HighTach Mtn Cruise next month.

Also, I've never changed my transmission fluid before, so I was thinking maybe I should?

is Motul a good brand to get for the gear oil, or is Redline better.

And for brake fluid, Motel? Or something else?

GM syncromesh is some good stuff. I used it and man it did wonders, but dont take my word for it, do a search and read the 100's of articles on the topic.

If you dont Auto-X a good brake fluid is Valvoline Synpower. It has good Wet/Dry boiling points and is very reasonably priced.

if you do auto-x i'd say a non-silicon based thicker fluid.... i dont remember which one is non-silicon based, i think dot-5 is... dont remember. but that'll work well and has a higher boil point, with some braided lines and a decent rotor/pad combo you'll do pretty good and wont have much fade
