Default Suggestions wanted for B18b engine.

I am looking for some suggestions. I had a '95 civic and i was going to swap a H22a to into it and then decided to put a b series engine in it. I ended up putting in a B18 it had a gsr block a type r head and cams I had headers installed and put a hondata in it cuz the ecu that came with the engine crapped out. The problem was that I didn't know to much and so I listened to the guys at the shop that was doing my swap and the engine ended up blowing the head gasket after about 1000 miles and then about 2 months ago one of the pistons went through the block. Not saying the people didn't know what they were doing but I had a horrible experience dealing with them not only that it took them two months to get my engine installed and I knew someone else that toke there car there got a swap in two weeks.

Well, I sold the car and now I have a 95 Integra ls. I am looking for any suggestions for things to do to the engine and places that are good resources for learning more about tuning engines so I don't get screwed again.

I am thinking more along the lines of rebuilding the engine and turboing it . I want to do most of the work myself (I have a friend that is a master mechanic but he doesn't know a whole lot about honda engines) with the help of my friend. I want it to be able to run 11 - 10's in the 1/4 mile. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For that amount of boost, most important thing is to sleeve the block. Golden Eagle is probably the best place to have it done, but other shops can aswell. 10-11's are going to be tough to do on a heavy Integra, you'll probably be needing 400-500 ponies. I hope you don't plan on this car being a daily driver.

P.S - http://www.team-integra.net Is a great site for you to learn from about the cars and the tech.

Congratulations on your new LS purchase. For you to run 10-11's your going to need at the very least sleeves. It is going to be hard to run 10-11's with out some serious engine building and good suspension. Not Impossible just expensive. Good luck

10s -11s is a pretty big goal. youre going to have to do alot of research and figure out how much you can afford. youre goin to need to build your motor, piece together a good turbo kit for the power you want, tune it with a good engine management system, and then build on your suspension and transmission. LSD, traction bars, good tires, good clutch, etc. gonna run you $$$$$.

like i usually say "tuning is the key"

I know its going to be some money but that doesn't concern me to much i've got a good job and what not and i'm not planing to do this all at once its going to be a couple year project. I agree with you "tuning is the key" thats why i want to learn so i will be able to tune it right.

thanks for the site
