Default Kinda OT: Stupid Dealers tryin to screw me

So yeah my ITR burn about 1 quart of oil every thousand miles, so I called the Acura dealer about it and they told me to keep a log of my oil consumption. So after 5 months of keeping a log it still showed, 1 quart burned every thousand miles. I took it back to them the other day. They call the extended warranty service and they told them to do a oil consumption test where they change the oil, have me drive around for 500 miles, come back and check it. Fill me up on oil then drive around another 500 miles, check it and they will go from there.

So I get my car back today, I forget to check my oil in the Acura parking lot to make sure they didn't over fill me, so therefore I check it when I get home. When I check, I find it is filled past the upper dot by almost a whole quart. I check it like 10 more times to make sure it wasn’t screwing up, and each time it is the same. So I immediately call the Acura dealer and talk to my service guy. I explain to him that I checked the oil and it was like a whole quart over filled. The response I get from him was “I don't understand why our technician would over fill it like that, there must be a reason" .......... hmm right must be a reason, yeah I think I know the reason a$$holes. So he tells me to bring it back tomorrow so the technicians can look at it since they were all ready gone today.

I swear when they check it tomorrow and it shows over filled, I am going to lay into them like no ones business . I really hate it when people try to screw me!!!!.

The one thing I can't understand it why, I had the third gear syncho go bad in my car and they replaced the transmission with no hassle.

Sorry for the long post guys, but I had to vent to people that would understand hopefully.

I’ll keep ya updated

maybe he is overfilling it so when your car burns oil, it won't be low? thats the only thing i can think. but then again they could be trying to screw you over.

Just curious, how can you determine that it is overfilled by a quart?

hmm, your story sounds exactly like uncleben's post here about his ITR burning oil and trying to get it fixed through the dealer
his thread -> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=861901

yeah, unclebens was around a quart over.... I posted in that thread but I might recant what I said about the dealer overfilling mine..... I can not remember for sure. I say let some oil out if they claim that it is normal and then drive the **** out of it. I think that you can have 1.5qt burn off and still be within spec.

Sorry to hear about this... even if i had a car with warrenty, i'm not sure i would ever bring it do a dealership.
Have you done a compression test, or leak down test?
I've also started a website, so people can post reviews of a gay *** places like this in their state, it's new, but the site works.
http://www.ratethework.com
Post up about how this place is possibly damaging your car by purposely putting in an extra quart, it may prevent someone from using them in the future!
Good luck!
