you could go either way, really a matter budget and if your willing to search out good deals on parts not to mention labor (do it yourself or pay someone) just so you know all the parts needed for the crvtec (or b20 vtec since youre new) would need to come from a complete b16 or similar swap. cyl. head, intake manifold, transmission, ecu and related sensors, harness' and brackets. so what i would do is do a b16, get it running and enjoy. in the meantime you can shop around for a b20 bottom end. once you find a good deal its just a matter of swapping out the bottom end some easy reversable mods to the head and oil lines to feed the head.
well, i did some looking, found another engine for about 1,100 comes with everything- f22b, sounds good, 160 horses, my question is what mods do they make for them?

Dito....building a b20VTEC will not be cheap.
With $2000 you have to decide whether you want VTEC or not.
If not then a b20 or b18b are you choices.
If you want VTEC, then your only choice is a b16 with $2000.

no. there are modifications that need to be done by a machine shop.. but you can do the motor cheaply but it wont last long at all.. just stick with a B16 if your a noob.. and for the F22b search around for what to do to get an Hseries in your car.. such as the H22..its the same thing
