Default UNCAP your integra!

speaking to a few of my colleagues (my drinking buddies) and they were telling me about adjustments in tuning of stock cars to open them up. seeing as we were quite a bit tipsy already, we couldn't divulge too much into it, but they were talking about "opening restrictions" and certain adjustments to help it run better. I've heard of it being done on se-rs, corollas, and cressidas. i've actually ridden in se-rs and they make a HUGE difference. Any ideas on what can be done?

were you tipsy when you created this thread? i dont get what youre referring to. lol opening up restrictions? anything you do to modify your teg, whether it be getting a larger intake, a performance header, larger exhaust, etc... is "opening up restrictions". these things have been covered.

I am going out on a limb but I think he means chipping the ECU to get rid of the red line restrictor that causes the mac address not to pick up an IP from the AP, then causes the dhcp server to not communicate with the host. but then again I am drunk too..

I think he might be talking about all of the old **** that used to be done in like 95. People would unplug vacuum hoses and every other thing that wasn't bolted down in the hopes that it would make their car faster.

I do think some of these 'free mods' worked, but you should probably have a method to the madness. Don't let your friends start cutting every wire and unplugging every hose on your car. If you need to disable a sensor in order to get a better a/f ratio or install a part, make sure you know why you are doing it first.

I remember everyone with a 89-91 Civic with PGM-FI would take it apart and take out the little metal plates/butterflies to get more air flow. That was back in the day before custom parts were designed to alleviate those issues.

Maybe he means new electronics/ecu to get the max potential out of the motor instead of fuel efficient\reliable power.
