I have a 94 del sol B16A/vtec My husband says that I should swap for a b20 or put a k series engin w/ a six speed. What is the difference??

 

dont know where to begin i would say search and read A LOT, before doing anything. but if you really want to you can buy me a K series

 

swap a K-series and sell me your b16
six speed is yummy not to mention more HP.

 

I know a few guys who read sport compact car religously. Is this magazine a reliable source??

 

id keep the b16, its a good motor.
its workable.

 

boost what you got and tune it.

imo, best import mag out there

 

so is TURBO magazine..

 

k series with intake header and exhaust puts down very impressive numbers

 

and say bye bye to powersteering and hello to super high prices on k engine and parts to get it in

your husband is probably talking about the JDM K20A or the USDM K20A2.

i say keep the B16, then buy a different motor when that one goes.

Does he have money or something, k series swaps are hella expensive. Leave the b16a in there thats good enough, why waste the potential it already has.

 

work with what you got, the B16 is good enough unless its high high high miles and your hubby has the $$$$.$$ then do what you want.

 

drive it until it blows ?

It all depends on your budget and what you want to do with your car (autox, road race, drag, show, audio, etc)

 

i would say to keep the b16 head and put a b20 block. that or build the b16 or throw a turbo. k20 swaps are really expensive. but if you have the money and really want it, its up to you

 

A Del Sol isn't worth the effort and $$$ it takes to drop a K in. Just drop in a nice turbo kit on that B16 and boost it 'til you blow it.

 

if you don't know too much about your car just wait a little. throw a dually in there wait for the k series. coming from anither car chick.

 

Keep the B16a! The money you would put to have your B16a takin' out and have a K series put in......would not be worth it. Throw some good money down into the engine you have and run w/ it

 

turbo is th eonly way to go

Keep your cylinder head.
Buy a B20 block.
With the $$ you saved on the K20, work the block and head.
Turbo it.
Do 12s, enough said.
