Default OBD 0 Port?

Could this be a OBD port or other FI data-getting port like a serial port?

BTW, this my own site and i know it's kinda cheesey but it's free

Is that what it is; a serial port?

Could I get some more info like baud rate if it is a serial port, pinnouts, protacalls, etc...

Serial Adapter | ecu side
(USB or Max233)
Side
tx- | -> Pin4 (rx)
rx- | -> pin2 (tx)
+5v |-> pin3 (not used if using usb adapter)
gnd- | -> pin1 (gnd)
|-> pin5(not used)

One 28 pin socket

One 4 pins "jumper" connector

Couple of (E)Eproms

Either a TTL to RS-232 or TTL to USB converter.

4 conductors wire

Max233 kit I used

Now that we've determaned what it is, how to use it, i'd like more info on software.

how does the port work? in other words, does it behave like OBD2; send request data and ecu responds with the desired data?

any info on the software comands, functons, and features would help.

well what happens is the 4 pins that the max233 (which is like an adapter to get the ecu to plug into the computer port) is like a window that you can view info but change nohing. So the info is sent to the nvsram on the max233 then is logged on the computer. Download turboedit from http://www.turboedit.com and you will see

I guess turboedit should work since it has this function as well, but the guy that did the page I linked you to has this program. http://www.ecucontrol.com/downloads.htm

Works on a Palm pilot software as well as Windows!

4drEF said I could leave my eprom stock and not have to remove it.
So what gives?
Is there another program out there just to test?
Is there a jumper I have to jump to enable this port?

this is my ECU:
http://www.pgmfi.org/twiki/bin/view/Library/PM9
however it says PM5 - L81 on the the side.
and yes, my ecu has a UV EPROM

Please explain.

Scenario - what if you socketed your ECU, chipped it, and ran the stock ECU program?

What does the chip have to do with the serial port that you add to the ECU???

My ECU is not chiped just the stock EPROM soldered in the board.
