Default 98 Civic EX Tranny Problem - Got engine codes - please help

I have a 98 civic EX with an auto tranny ...

So I went to autozone and found out that my car is throwing codes P0700 and P0730, which is transmission control system problem and improper gear ratio....

Basically my car jumps if I accelerate much when my car is shifting gears.. It's sorta like how a car would act if its being driven by someone who is just learning to drive a stick..

I'll have to take it to a tranny shop, but I am wondering if anyone can help me out and give me an idea of what might be wrong and what it might cost, and if I might be able to do it myself instead.. ( I dont have much knowledge yet though)

Thanks
