REAR CASTER
i guess this would only work on a mac strut car, but what would be the effects of caster (more or less) in the rear? i was having this discussion with a race car builder at work and he sais it has an effect, but wouldnt explain it to me.

There is no such thing, in a functional sense. Caster comes into play only as the wheels steer.
Suspension geometry can indeed change the toe and/or camber of a rear wheel dynamically but since this happens due to suspension travel, it is called "bump-steer" or "camber gain."
This is assuming that we are NOT talking about a Trophee Andros ice racer with 4WS, of course...

There's a section in Puhn about rear caster. IIRC, it applies primarily to double-wishbone suspensions, and refers the angle between the upper and lower ball joints, same as in the front. It affects dynamic toe change, a.k.a bump steer.
