why do i keep blowing fuses?
My 98 civic DX keeps blowing the alternator fuse. Its causing my CEL to come on. Its throwing both o2 codes and the ELD. i replaced the primary O2 because it needed it.
last week this happened changed the fuse and i was fine. yesterday the light come on and i replaced the fuse. it blew 5 minutes later and light came on. i replaced the fuse agaon reset ECU and right away the fuse blew..
Is this a sign of a bad alternator?

i kept blowing fuses also. my problem was that the sec. o2 sensor wires shorted to the chassis of the car.
problems that it caused:
speedo went dead
speed sensor fuse blew
vtec didn't work
i replaced the fuse several times with the 7.5 fuse, but it kept blowing. i then put in a 15 amp fuse and drove it like this for a while, although the speed speedo never worked. i searched for a schematic of the vss and it seems like that thing is tied into several things. for ex, cruise control, alternator, vss, o2 etc. i troubleshot all those things but then i found that my sec. o2 sensor wires under my car near the shifter was grounding out to the car.

i replaced the fuse again today at lunch. drove a few miles on my break. so far no light, but we will see. It just happens to be raining, so when it stops i will get it on stands and relook everything again..
