is my clutch out?! (symptoms inside)
this just happened all randomly tonight, but when i got into my car, i stalled and realized that my "catch" point was about an inch from the bottom of the clutch.
it seriously feels like the gas pedal until about hte last 2 inches of the clutch. maybe even easier
my car is at about 86k miles right now.

ok i just went out to test if the clutch was truley dead.
i was cruising at 30mph and then floored it into 5th gear to see if my rpm's would climb like they would if i were in neutral...NOTHING happened.
in fact, my clutch went back feeling normal again. its ****** weird, like i'm glad it feels normal again, but i'm afraid something could still be wrong SOMETHING and i have no idea what it could be? maybe the clutch pedal springs?
any help would be great

I had a fluck thing like that happen to me before. just keep an eye onit.
another thing youcan do is stop put it in 5th gear andtry to start and if it doenst stall its a bad or really worn clutch

If one of the springs breaks on ure stock clutch you might be able to hear it in ure tranny casing when it rotates. That happened to me, the damn spring broke off the clutch and I say less then 2 months later it went bad. I guess the springs really messes up the surface of ure clutch because its in the way when you shift.
So pay attention to any strange sounds. And if you do hear anything like that, start saving some cash and change ure clutch a.s.a.p.

you're probably low on clutch fluid. which might be caused by a leak in the master or slave cylinder.
i had the same problem with my 2nd (and current) lude for like 3 months after i bought it. i just thought it was an aftermarket clutch and stuff, but it turns out that i had a leaking master and slave cylinder.
although i loved it when it caught down low like that hehe
definitely get it fixed tho b/c if it gets too low you wont be able to put it in gear... (happened to me...) and if it does happen, pump the clutch A LOT. and carry around a bottle of dot 3 brake fluid just in case, so you can pull over and refill as needed.

how much do you think it'll cost to get totally fixed? i don't want to have to carry around brake fluid all the time haha...thanks

if it is actually the master and/or slave cylinder... then *looking at reciepts from teh honda dealer* i got the master cylinder for $113 and the slave for $68
but i also work there, so i get employee discount. so id have to guesstimate about $150 and $85?
and if you dont do it yourself then you can also factor in the dealerships "rape me then fix my car" labor price lmao
or if you're around central florida i can have a guy do it for you for fairly cheap and/or get you teh parts for a lil bit more than i got them.

haha i work at a honda dealership as well
so how do i check if it they are leaking? i'm a complete noob when it comes to engine bay stuff, so i don't even know where the master/slave is located
after you replaced the master/slave cylinders, was everything back to normal?

well i dont know how to tell if they are leaking... but i guess since you also work at a dealership then you could have your favorite mechanic check it out for you.
master cylinder resovoir is right next to the brake master cylinder and the actual cylinder is under the dash right above your clutch pedal... you'll replace all of that.
the slave is to the left of the header down by the front motor mount.
after i replaced all that my clutch pedal was normal and i hated it, but have since grown to get used to it... i liked it when it was catchy down 1 inch off the floor lmao

Same thing happened to me.
I replaced my master cylinder, that wasnt it. Then I replaced the slave cylinder.
Problem solved!
Really didnt care about spending money on the new master, now I know that both will last another 90,000 miles.

the clutch fluid reservoir if its low on fluid its leaking. the system is just like a brake system. air can only get in if the system has leaks, or the fluid runs out totally and air gets sucked in. bleeding a leaking system will not fix the problem. the source of the leak must be found. look under the dash and see if tehre is fluid near around your pedal.
your going to end up doing damage.
