car still runnin hot,fan wont turn on!
ok so i had the prob of my fan not turnin on a couple of days ago, i was told that i could jus jump it at the thermostat housing to see if the fan works at all, well it turned on when i jumped the harness so i bought a new fan temp switch, but after replacing it today the car still runs hot, not too sure what it could be now, any suggestions would help
have you tried just jumping the fan itself to see if it works????? if it works you probably have a wiring problem somewhere or a relay is bad.
ok so i just jumped the fan at the thermostat housing to double check an make sure it works an it came on, if i cant find the prob soon imma jus run the fan to a switch

Ive had the problem before....sometimes its something as simple as one wire bad. I would test your wires (dont remember how...moms friend did mine for me
), if they are bad wires i would try and replace them. I would try that....if all else fails...take it in. I think you would have more of a hassle always turning your fan on/off w/ a switch and always keeping your eye on your therm. Thats just my option eaither way will work
. Good luck

actually i ran it to a switch an hour ago for the time being which works fine but i would like to eventually fix the prob so that i dont have to worry bout it
check the relay under the hood. its located near the battery. run the fan wire to the battery and see if it turns on. if it turns on, then the fan is good. while its on, take out the fan relay fuse and see if the fan turns off. if it turns off, the relay fuse is good, if it stays on, then you need a new relay fuse.
is your radiator cap in good condition?
i had the same problem a few weeks ago. i had to run the fan all night one time until i got home. the next day i just messed with the wires by moving them around looking for a bad connection or something. for some odd reason, the fan worked the next time i drove the car.
