Default Catalytic Converter or Straight Pipe

My integra is in need of either a new cat, or a straight pipe. I don't really want the straight pipe b/c of the noise, but I'm also selling the Integra by the end of the summer so it doesn't really matter to me. I have a Jackson Racing cat on it now, but all the welds are cracked because it's a cheap p.o.s. Anyone know any good brands for cats and straight pipes?

Pickup a Carsound cat. You can get one for under 100 bucks. People don't like buying cars with straight pipes.

Get the Jackson re-welded.... I suppose you are just talking about the heat shields right?

it depends on what you have done to your car. if its mostly stock get another cat. a straight pipe wont relaly help on your car unless you have alot of work or a turbo.

itll only smell. destroy the enviornment. be dealy for you to inhale. produce sut all over ur bumper.

its actually worse for ur motor to lower the backpressure too much.

a striaght pipe when not needed makes u lose some torque.

My car is extensively modified, but it's already loud as hell and I don't want to make it any louder. I'll go with the carsound cat.

You'd be hard pressed to get more than a 3-4 Hp Advantage over the Car-sounds Cat if you went with a straight Pipe. Hardly a worth while advantage.

You'd be surprised at how much better your car will run with a High Flow Cat plus you'll still be able to pass Emissions test.

Carsound, that's what I've ordered. But, if your selling the car than just get the JR one welded back up.

Get a kitty, pass emissions! If you dont require it where you live then you should get what you think is better. That's my opinion. if your going to sell it, hmmmmm i'd get the cheapest working stock cat.... hit up the junkyard

I know I'm selling the car, but I just want to fix everything that's wrong with it before i sell it. The cat makes this awful rattling noise b/c the welds are broken. Anyone jumping in for test drive will say "**** this pos!"

Instead of the carsound, get a resonated t-pipe made, it should be cheaper and add minimal noise to your exhaust

*that is if you havent already set your mind on a cat!
