Default HID's?

Does anyone know if HID kits are available for Integras? How much do they cost? Who makes them?

I saw a front end conv. with 98 HID lights for 4,000 the other day. I am not sure if that is a good deal. But anything HID is going to run you some big $$$$$$$.

Philips makes a kit that is pretty good. You can get them for around $400 on Ebay

That is the only kit I could find. Is that what you bought? Is that kit worth it?

Default HID's?

I also have the kit from Trevor at Visual Dynamics. The light output is fantastic, setup is a breeze, and I have absolutely no complaints. If you can get the kit from him, go for it. There might be one drawback though. Depending on how many customers he has, you may have to wait for them. But well worth the wait. I will never go back to Halogens.

so the before pic is also HID but aftermarket? and the after pic is JDM HID???? I'm confused. The bottom pic looks a lot better, maybe it's the blue tint of the light. A friend of mine has a HID kit which he got for $400 out the door, it looks really bright to me. He doesn't know what brand it is, but it is made in Korea.

here's some more compairsons:
(all of the pictures are after a 1min warm up period, minus 1 picture which shows the difference between warm up and non-warm up color. Most people post false pictures by showing the lights before a 1min warm up period. By doing they, it appears that they are a lot brighter and bluer then normal.)
OEM JDM HID headlights (98+spec)

Normal non-hid JDM headlights with stock halogen normal bulbs:

US front with HID kit added on (with flash):

US front with HID kit added on (without flash):

US front with HID kit vs. 2001 X5 with HID's

US front beam pattern color. Left is without warm up, Rightside is with warmup

JDM headlights with added HID kit (daytime):

JDM headlights without OEM HID's:

JDM headlights with OEM HID's:

this picture:

Is showing:
Before:
Are JDM 97-below non-hid headlights with a HID kit added on
After:
Are special JDM 98+ hid headlights
(both are after a 1min warm up.)
And yes the bottom picture looks better. Its not all because they are JDM hid's, its because they are special jdm hid's! Lets just say that they are the future of HID's to come. I got them from a company in Japan that I've been disscussing HID information with. They gave me this special setup since I have such a strong interest in this field.

I dont plan on getting a JDM front end anytime soon. If I get HID's for my USDM lights would they look more like the first picture or the second? Do you guys think HID's are worth it for the cost? Would the HID kit I would use be blue and sparkly in person?

it will look like the HIDs on the pics that ITRSPORT posted. Yes, its worth being able to see farther so u can react faster to emergencies...such as DUMBASS DEER ON THE ROAD!!! that break my mirrors and leave blood specs all over my car anyway....yeah i think its worth it...plus it looks cool for the girlies

they will look like the US front pictures I've posted. The ones itrsport.com posted seem a lot bluer then any HID kit I've seen on a US front. Around here tons of people have HID kits on their tegs and they all look like the ones I've posted. Why? Its because I used the correct exposure time on the camera with the correct lighting to show the real look of the HID kits. I'm not doubting itrsport.com's pictures, but maybe he didn't allow them to warn up enough. Most all aftermarket kits regardless of the brand all have more of a purple/yellow/white look to them rather then that blue/white color that he posted. Any time you take pictures of HID's its extreamly hard to get the correct color in the picture. What you need to do it turn the HID's on, wait a 1min or more, then take tons of pictures using different angle's and different lighting with or without flashes. Then take the captured pictures and compair them to the HID's in person and see which one's match them best.

The video on this site http://www.visualdynamics.ca shows blue light. The only experiance with aftermarket HID's I have is some that a friend has on a supra and they look pretty blue, they sparkle a lot too.

that video isn't long enought to show the true color. Thats only 10sec from initial turn on. A warmup normally takes at least 30sec-1min for the real driving color to show.

$400 would be a killer price
$425 would be a great price (close to a good group buy price)
$450 is a good price that some sell for. Its a hook-up price, but also have seen it as a group buy price
$475 is close to a normal retail price
$500 is around a retail
$525-600 is retail.
