Default Release fork question

does anyone know if you should be able to move the release fork that attaches to the transmision by hand? I just installed a new tranny and the clutch release cylinder was very tight and i couldn't move the release fork much by hand

no it shouldn't move or wobble.

Hydraulic pressure in the slave cylinder is what moves it.
