Default d16 tranny question

hey i aws just wondering if all d16 5speed tranny's bolt up to all d16 blocks.... really what i'm wondering is will a hydralic tranny from a newer d16 work on a 90-91 civic d16 if you just change the forks.... for example i would be making a hydrolic clutch tranny into a cable clutch tranny.... is this possible??? and will that tranny bolt up the same way.... sorry if i confused anyone.....

Don't even bother. If you could figure out a way to work the clutch, the mounting points are different for the tranny mounts.

But it will bolt to the block. Besides the cable tranny has the better (slightly) ratios

Physically the newer tranny's do have the same bolt pattern. I have one of each in my garage. I am installing a newer d16 with my cable style tranny out of my crx. The only question i would have is what car are you putting it in? If you are putting it into a 88-91 civic/crx you are gonna have to make custom mounts to get the hydraulic tranny in. The mounting points are very different from cable to clutch.

Provide a little more info, and i may be able to answer a few more of your questions.
