thanks for the info, but using a higher wattage bulb instead of the recommended wattage wont cause any other damage ??

to tell you the truth, my old 55w bulbs were just too dull for me. i have the jdm foglights and i wanted the yellow to be brighter so i went with a 100w bulb and it seems to do the job, i like them alot but im thinking on getting some PIAA h3 bulbs

this is true. i dont have a oem harness so i used one of those harnesses that autozone sells and one of the wires that comes from the battery has a fuse holder which melted just a few days ago but 3 dollars replaced it.

You're not gonna see much of an improvement in lumens output from 55w to 85w. Also, you're fog lights aren't meant to be the primary illumination source.
Usually, foglights are very small and don't dissipate heat very well. This is not a problem unless you are in slow moving or stop-and-go traffic. In that case you wouldn't need the foglights so if you do opt for higher wattage bulbs you can turn them off when you don't need them.
I would just stick to 55w.
