Hey yall im planning to get some 16' wheels for my civic. I like my wheels not too tucked but sticking out little bit,I was wondering which is a better wheel offset a 33+? or 42+?

 

id get 42..

Would the wheel be tucked in or sticking out, I heard the more the offsett, the more the wheel sticks out.

 

42 offset here lowered 2.5 back and 2.2 front. Wheels are tucked with very minor rubbing if I go fast on a U turn

 

my works have a +44mm offset, they sit flush with my fenders, its dropped about 2 inches in Tein SS's.

The more positive offset you have the more "tucked" it will be. I.E. picutre a wheel with "0" offset. That means the lugs are in the dead center of the wheel. Well if you have a positive 42mm offset. That means they move out 42mm. Sliding the wheel closer to the car. 42mm is the standard offset to go with. 33mm will stick out slightly and rub your fender depending how "slammed" you are or how much your suspension sucks.

99 Civics run ET45 as standard, if you want your car to handle/brake and behave as it should i would stick to as close as that as poss. Ive got ET40 Rotas on mine at the moment and im swapping them for ET45's!!

And they're illegal in some states. And they look retarted.

I'd run 33's on a track car all day long.

Well then don't start spreading bogus info. We aren't talking about 15x10 dayton's here. We are talking about 9 more mm.
