Default 1990 Integra GS Swapped with GS-R Tranny

Does any one know if there is a difference between the GS & GS-R Tranny (Automatic) gear ratio? Recently, I replaced my GS Tranny with a used Japanese GS-R Automatic Tranny. I noticed that at 80 MPH, the old tranny used to be rev. around 3750 RPM while the new GS-R tranny seems to be rev. at about 4200 RPM. AM I correct that the GS-R has a different tranny gear ratio than my GS. Any help is appreciated.

Well I know the LS ( GS ) tranny has longer gears than the GSR tranny. I'd assume the automatic tranny for the GSR would have shorter gears also.

Thanks, This infomation is exactlly what I am looking for. Based on the information given, the guy who swapped the GSR Tranny into my GS model used the wrong Tranny. The GS redline at 6500 RPM while the GSR redline at 8000 RPM. I normally cruise at 80 MPH but now at 80 MPH, my engine rpm is at 4250 and there is loud engine noise at that RPM. What I have to do now is to change my driving habit to do 70 MPH on the freeway. You probably are askin why don't I just bring the car back to the guy, the reason is he screwed up the first time and left all know of parts out of the car. As a matter of fact, he did not tighten the fork for the spring and had the bolt came loss, I would have wiped out on the freeway. I end up getting all the parts back and installed my self. Are there any good mechanics out there any more? Figure this out, We have some PH. D's in Japan designing this state of the art viehcle and we have bunch of High School Drop outs working on these machines, isn't that scary!!!!
