95-civic dx to b18b1 engine swap, priceing on the dx plus questions
ook hello honda tech.. new to the scene I am full of questions I be...
I have a 95 civi coupe... invader type 2 front end invader type 6 side and back ground fx being installed now.... got a deal on a b18b1 engine.. block axels head tranny ecu wiring harnes the clutch to trann conecter stuff... ALL of it for 800 its a 97 integra ls set up... with 45,000 miles on it..
questions....
1. how much is the dx set up I have in it now worth it has 88k miles on it and a few people are offering .. 200 for the engine. and 100 for tranny... ?
2. I've been told going v-tec head is expensive and once turboed will lead to the eventual block go boom even with forged pistons and all that good stuff.. so I'm leaning towards all ls + turbo them strengthen the engine till I can run nice high boost. this sound ok...?
3. what catback exhaust set up gives the best compression for an LS turbo set up I was told apex.
4. having 100 lb gross weght stereo system... that bad?
5. errrr I think of some more later... other than that ... Hiya

oh heres question #5 ..
5. by leaving my steering "non power as it is now in the swap... will there be a hp gain iff the power steering is removed on the engine.. if so how much over the 140 stock hp of the b18b1
6. is the 95 civic lighter than the 98 integra?... that would be good right...

1 i sold my cx drivetrain for 300 worth of store credit to my shop. that motor was worthless to me so i was happy to sell it

4 lose the stereo to me weight is just as important as HP

Removal of the power steering belt will yeild more hp yes. In a nutshell the reason for this is the more belts a motor must run the more drain on power because belts require force/power to be rotated, so removal of the belt is one less belt to run and a little hp is the result.
