Default Any way to use the DX engine?

I have a Gen 5 Civic DX with a 1.5 in it. Is there a way that I could keep the DX engine or even a portion of it and then just change the heads or whatever with something else?? Like a LS or CR-V one? I'm not to good on swaps or engine things, so you have to pardon me!

You could put a SOHC VTEC head on it, but the gains will probably not be worth the work.

Just get a LS (b18b or b18a) engine, and swap it in there. It will require no wiring changes, and will make your car a good amount faster. Those engines are pretty cheap too.
