Default Need help with 86 CA 1 accord rad fans

Hi all,im new to this place and to hondas, well i owned a few of the first little honda civics, lol
But the Mrs's accord has a problem, the rad fans never come on,ive checked the thermostat, its ok.Fuses are all intact, the fan works free from the car, when connected to a power source.I have no manuel to reffer to for this, and i had a good search, but it seems i may have a dinosaur here, lol,as i cant find any relative info to my problem.
I know it seems trivial since it is an old car to most of you guys, bet its the only one we still have that runs, and for the life of me,i cant work it out,and im not a dummy when it comes to cars, just hondas, lol
If there is anyone that could stop me pulling the rest of my hair out,the vacuume cleaner would be most appreciative, lol.
Thanks ,Jase.

Hey that car is a classic and gives me a real flashback, because I started working on Hondas in 82. The first thing to do is find the 2 prong radiator temp switch down beside the lower radiator hose and unplug it and jumper those wires. Then see if the fans run, the fans should also run if the A/C switch is on, with the blower on low, key on. [if there is freon in the A/C system] In the underhood fuse box there is a radiator fan relay as well, you could try removing that and jumpering w/the rad temp switch still jumped. That relay coil is energized thru fuse #12 a 15 amp in the under dash fuse panel. This info should help you for a DX or LX model
If you have an LXi model there are some slight differences, a fan timer controller that can be jumpered as a test and a slightly different power path.
Best of luck I hope this helps you.

Hi hondadude, man, thanks alot for that, ill be out there first thing in the daylight to see if that is the case. The fans do work with an independant power source :IE,another battery, but dont go when the car is on,and i think there is no freon in the ac syste, was used little by last opwner so no doubt its goosed now, lol.
Ill run thru that list and do my best to recitfy it,thanks alot for your help on this HD,very much appreciated,i hope you dont mind me asking more questions if this fails, lol.
Thanks again.
