Hey guys just want to know what the benefits or disadvantages of a 4-2-1 an 4-1 header are?? also what brand do u recomend for my JDM D15B ??? thanks

 

4-2-1 goes from 4 pipes, to 2, to 1.

4-1 goes straight from 4 to 1, no in between.

I believe that a 4-1 is more for racing, and the 4-2-1 is more for street use.

 

4-1 has more high end power
4-2-1 has more low end power

 

4-2-1 makes mor torque in the low end where the 4-1 lets exhaust flow more freely at the top end

hmmmmmm....that's funny. the DTR and other high end, high hp & tq header's that i have seen were all 4-2-1. don't get it twisted.

 

Also, "most" of the time, 4-1 headers are not street legal....

(at least where I'm from they're not)

 

I ve also seen lot of racing cars with 4/2/1 header

what are the differences in manifolds - are they all the same construction ???

more torque on a 4-2-1 yes but as far as hp #'s its how much hp is being made in the power band not overall that usually is the main difference
