2000 RPM... at idle!
I just noticed this happening recently,
but when I'm driving and coming to a complete stop, (with my foot off the gas) my engine is still revving at around 2000 RPM UNTIL I come to a complete stop, then it drops to 750-1000. It go back to 750-1000 a couple seconds AFTER I've made a complete stop.
I thought it was the edge of my foot still hitting the gas because I just put new pedals on, but I looked at it closely and thats not it. What would cause my engine to keep the revs high?
Also on another note, I don't know if this is common, but just recently after I would start up my car in the morning and started driving, couple minutes later, my emergency break light would light up and to remedy this, I would tap the break pedal and it would go away, e-brake handle, vice versa thinking it was stuck?? Are my break going out too??
Car is an 00' 28,000 miles.
Sounds like a leaking master cyl causing a vac loss due to the longer stroke of the power booster. I would normaly say just check the vac line to the booster but you have a brake light comming on which also may mean low fluid in the master cyl.
Just a guess, worth a look any way...

hmm...First thing I would check is the brake fluid..(just to make sure) If thats ok, you may want to check for vacuum leaks ie around the brake booster area. This could contribute to both of your problems..
Thanks. I'll inspect my brake fluid and master cylinder. Just to make it clear, my E-bbrake light comes on, not my taillights. Also, the car is not actually braking. (If it is partially e-braking, I can't tell) Ill check it out on Wednesday.. when I get home.

do what everybody said about the brake fluid and your e-brake light. however, the idle is normal. it'll rev high and then drop down. 2k is a little high because i only get that when started the car in the morning.
when i start my car in the morning when its cold, its revving to 3k, and evertually stabilizing around 2k.When im coming to a stop, it will drop down to around 1k, then bounce up and down once or twice then stabilize around 2k again. ive checked so many things, but brakes i havent. what exactly should i be looking for?
miraiz do you have any experience with using VAFC's? i have a second gen one in my car, and once i ruled out all the easy stuff i started playing with it, and i when i changed the sensor in value from 6 to 5, the idle dropped, but didnt sound very smooth. seeing as how the VAFC manual i have is horribly translated, i dont really even know what those values mean....
My k20a will sit at about 1300 then when I come to a stop it will hold then go to 750...I believe this is normal
As far as the Ebrake thing, i've experienced this before, a couple days/nights of parking in gear w/o the ebrake fixed it...
