interior sound
When I'm driving around and hit a bump there's this weird squeeking noise. I'm guessing it's my shocks. Don't know much about supension so don't flame. I'm just trying to find an inexpensive (like under $100) way to kill the noise. I don't have any carpet in the trunk so I don't know if that matters. The car is an 89 crx.
Try unbolting the bottom of the strut. Move it out of the way and bounce your rear end. If the squeeking disapears you know its your strut, then just replace it. If its not then you have to spend some time searching for the squeek. If you dont have a stethescope have someone bounce the car and touch various suspension parts. where it squeeks it will viberate a little. If your lucky you will feel it.
I usually do turn the vol. up on the stereo, but when I'm with someone and trying to talk to them that squeeking is a bia. But thanks for the help. I'm going to check the struts soon. Thanks you again.
I've got an 88 crx, and i've found the "fold down" cargo cover (for the hatch storage) right behind the seats can squeak a damn lot if it's not totally pushed in. To check if that's what is squeaking just unhinge it and prop it open and go for a short ride.
Just another possibility
