Fuel pump upgrade for 88-91 civic/crx
I need to find a place that sells an upgrade fuel pump for my 90 dx hatchie. Any related information is helpful.(install tips, online stores, personal experience, etc.)
is there any site I can get a bit of install info on this? I thought I read that the 92-95 has to work on the 88-91 cars, is that correct?
get a supra fuel pump TT best fuel pump on the market goes for around 170shipped brand new best money can buy did I say 100% perfect fit
don't forget to upgrade the wires with fatter wires or your stock wires will get hell hot also u must use the stock pick up screen with the supra fuel pump.

Your 88-91 civic fuel pump = exactly same style shape as SUPRA TT Fuel Pump expect the supra one flows much better and its more expensive.
warbor I don't know I heard they mount different I like to keep it as stock as possible.
the pump is easy to drop.
1. Drain All the gas if you want or get it to almost empty if you don't want to open and get a had ache.
Take out the plastic cover protecting the gas lines I think they are 4 heads and two 10 mm bolt.
2. Take out the two straps holding the gas tank they will be pretty dirty with crap on the threads have some WD40 handy. The Bolt is a Number 12 mm I think hold the two straps.
3. After that drop the gas tank slowly you might need to move it around to get it to drop make sure its light and support the gas tank with a jack or something like that.
4. After you drop the gas tank. Take out the 17 mm bolt hold the fuel LINE make sure gas don't fall in your eye lol
after dat take out all the 10 mm bolts holding the fuel pump. Also you will need to take out the rubber gasket keeping the gas tank together.
5. After that slow take out the fuel pump at an angle it sits down in the gas tank its L shaped soo take it out carefully at an angle.
Hopefully this give u an idea grab the helms manual and get to work

From what I have heard, most aftermarket high flow pumps are noisy when compared to stock. When I searched the Supra TT fuel pump, users said it was remarkably quiet when compared to aftermarket pumps for the same vehicle.
I seem to have trouble finding the Supra TT pump and might just go to the Warlbro just out of easy access.(err..and cost)

one of the few great threads about the walbro vs supra.
you choose. I picked the walbro.
simply because of priceing advantage

I am running a 190lph walbro in my CRX. I didnt have any trouble with the mounting or anything. It does make more noise than stock but it lets me know its working
I did have problems blowing that damn fuse though when I first dropped it in.

Sorry I missed the questions.
I forgot what fuse it was exactly (guy above said it was alternator fuse) but the walbro was pulling to much current and was popping a fuse. It was a 15 amp fuse and they kept blowing and I dropped a 25 amp in it and it never had a problem again. I have heard of some people upgrading the wiring to the pump and not having a problem but I didnt find this out until way after the pump was in.
My setup is a DOHC ZC with stock injectors. Nothing special.

i just installed a walrbo 255 in my 89dx. i got mine from lightning motorsports and the actual pump itself was for a supra but its the install kit that differs. just get the 88-91 install kit and it fits like stock.. came with everything i needed. besides dropping the tank with no lifts and just jack stands... the install itself was simple. it was my first time ever doin anything like that as well just to let you know. so anyone can do it if i can lol. also.. i never had any kinda problems with fuses and stuff, ive never heard of that??

Incorrect. CRX/Hatch is the same, and the gas tanks are the same.
I used a 94+ Integra fuel pump (walbro 190lph) and a stock CRX Si strainer. You have to modify the plugs and zap strap it down, but it works fine

a 1g Talon fuel pump bolts right in (88-91 EF), and flows about 160LPH. i got mine for $17US and its works flawlessly. if you are looking to save money, buy a used 1g pump. if not, buy the 190LPH aftermarket pump, only if it fits your requirements. 255 is overkill, unless you are making in excess of 350whp.
