http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...+V700

Tirerack screwed up their price on 175/60/13 Kumho Escta V700 tires, they are ONLY THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS A PIECE!. A friend of mine with an '86 CRX found this deal, but I didn't want to ***** out the deal until his shipped, which they have.

I envy all of you with 13s.

Tirerack has the price changed back to $97/tire. Thanks for the info though

Yeah - the ones in stock are $37
It is possible that this is a discontinued size.

I don't envy people who use that tire size. (175 that is)

Hey, now I can put race tires on my '83 Civic! Oh wait, it has 12" wheels, and doesn't run anyway.

Great street tires if you just bought a CX or VX or something and want good tires without buying bigger wheels, because, say, you're going to race it. *buys now*

*wakes up*

Tirerack says that they are an old batch (at least 1-2 years old) that they bought at a discount so they are passing it on. I wonder how much difference that year or two would make on their performance? Anyone got some experience with this?

! ! !

The 235/45R13 ecsta V700 that I need to buy are still on backorder, I havent raced in 1 autox yet in my own car this year!

hmmm...
So I could-
Buy 2 new Hoosier 225/50R13 for $308 (the'yre $154 EACH!) that I need for my 13x9 Diamonds...
OR...
Buy 4 of the skinny V700's for $148 (per set!) to slap on my extra 13" steelies...

I wonder how these old V700's are? I remember ghettoracer had bought something like these a year or two ago for cheaper, maybe even $25 each, becuse they were unsold overstock from some Spec Series, like, uh, formula ford maybe?

Hmmm. I'm assuming the answer is yes, but figured I'd ask anyway. Better than 14" Azenis right? Even though it's 195 vs. 175. May have to pick up a set

Also, do these need to be shaved? I know the 235s need to be. Seems that you can't get them shaved at anywhere near that price.

If I were buying them I'd be buying them for use on the track, or on the street if I don't get tons of rain. I wouldn't expect to be competitive because A) they're 175's, I mean, 175? Come on! And B) They're old

Yes, I'd imagine they might end up having more grip than a 195 Azenis. Just my *** talking.

We didn't have our 235s shaved and they are fine, 1 year and a bazillion runs later . . .

They are K8A compounds. The K8A's are harder than the newer K6A compound. Plus, they stopped making K8A compounds at the end of 2002 so these are around 1.5-2 years old (I think the V700 ECSTA came ashore around April 2002). They are still a killer deal for a tire to beat the crap out of!!! Good find.

My set arrived today, having ordered them Friday morning, when I heard about them.

They look pretty wide, for a 175.

Wouldn't they make a great "spec" tire for H5?

Keith, who hopes that H5 stays a relatively affordable Honda-Challenge class...
